Scanlon's Folk Nights The Nelthorpe Arms, Bridge Street, Brigg, North Lincolnshire Second
Wednesday of every month |

|
Folk music and song, poetry and storytelling in a relaxed and convivial atmosphere. This is folk the way it used to be. Admission is free, and there's no raffle and no booked acts, just a room full of people singing and playing for the pure joy of it. Which is exactly what you would expect from the town where Percy Grainger collected so many of our great songs just over a hundred years ago. Regular performers include members of The Stubblejumpers
Ceilidh Band, Clarty Sough and The Roaring Forties and the club is the
home of Coleby Plough Jag. Visiting performers and listeners are always
welcome, we operate a simple singaround system so just find a seat buy
a pint and wait until it gets round to you. Any form of folk music or
song is welcome, be it traditional or contemporary, but as you might
assume from the list of regulars there is a leaning toward traditional
song.. Start time is 8.30 for 9.00 and we run right through the year
with no break for summer holidays. |
