French and Scottish "Auld Alliance" concert and workshops | ||||||

Don't miss the chance to hear ace accordionist Steve Turner turn out some stunning tunes from the other side of the channel, and accompany French/Breton singer Yannick Minvielle-Debat who specialises in "dizaines," Breton songs for dancing, and songs for listening. Yannick will be teaching some of these songs in workshops at the Institute earlier in the day.
The Scottish part of the evening will feature Janet Russell and Tom McConville, both local favourites who travel as solo artists both nationally and internationally. Tom's fiddle and Janet's voice combine beautifully for a few numbers, and both artists will treat the audience to solo sets.
