White Rose Awards:
Cleckheaton Folk Festival Nominated

Cleckheaton Folk Festival has been nominated for the Yorkshire Tourist Board's White Rose Award and is delighted to be among the four finalists for the "Tourism Event of the Year" category (based on the period 1st Jan - 31st December 2001).

The other three organisations shortlisted are: Marsden Moor Cuckoo Day; York Festival of Food and Drink, and Sunset Productions at Temple Newsome.

The awards ceremony is on 2nd October 2002 at the Royal Armouries in Leeds and a number of members of the committee will attend.

Kathy Aveyard of the Cleckheaton Festival committee says, "There is no actual prize as such, but the main benefit is the prestige and publicity. It would be wonderful to win, but it is very exciting anyway to have even reached the final four."

The YFA extends its best wishes to all the Cleckheaton Festival committee.
