A couple of opportunities for particularly brave people involved in the folk arts have recently come to our attention. Read on, and be afraid...
Faking It
Sam Roubicek writes: I am a television researcher on the Channel 4 programme Faking It. We are currently producing a new series and I am trying to speak to all traditional/folk dancers aged 18-28 who would like the chance of taking part in this hugely popular experience. We want an amateur traditional dancer to try to 'fake it' as something completely different, but I can't disclose what it will be as at this stage. Anyone who is interested in taking part, or would simply like to find out more, should contact me directly on 020 7013 4398, or they can email me at sam.roubicek@rdfmedia.com I would be extremely grateful if you could pass this information on to fellow dancers, either by forwarding this email, or by making an announcement at your next meeting/rehearsal. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me on the number below. Kind Regards. And, under the be very afraid category...
Wife Swap
Carolyn Banks writes: Channel 4 Television is looking for interesting families to take part in an award winning documentary series about family life . . . RDF media, one of the UK's leading television production companies and the producers of documentaries such as Faking It is currently in production for a new series of the multi award winning series Wife Swap. This groundbreaking series gives an insight into the modern family life and the everyday choices we all make as well as our outlook on life. For the third series we would very much like to feature interesting couples (with children at home) who are involved in the folk music social scene. We are particularly keen to hear from families who are positive about their lifestyle and how it can be enjoyed by all the family. If you are curious how others live and would relish a unique once in a lifetime opportunity to experience a different way or outlook on life, we would love to hear from you. Please contact Carolyn for more information on 020 7013 4552 Or email carolyn.banks@rdfmedia.com Families need to live in the UK, have children living at home and be up for a challenge.
