A new opportunity for brief media celebrity —and, we imagine, a thoroughly interesting time— has just come to our attention.

Channel 5 logo Chloe Sarfaty writes:

I am a researcher at Freeform Productions (same producers as A Place in the Sun), and we are currently trying to find British families with a traditional British hobby to take part in a new prime time TV series.

CH5 are making an exciting new television series and are looking for British families who have an interest in traditional British activities, such as Morris dancing, folk dancing, ballroom dancing, darts, sheep shearing, clay pigeon shooting, gardening, etc (any more suggestions are welcome!)

The family chosen will travel to Europe and stay with a French, German or Italian family, who may also have a similar interest or hobby. Both families will then return to the UK and stay with the British family. Both families will be encouraged to cook traditional food, visit local tourist attractions and show the other family what is great about their country and its traditions!

The family do not need to be fluent in other European languages — simply have an interest in other cultures and traditions.

The first episode will be filmed in the last week of June. Failing that, we are filming three more shows across the summer months.

If you are interested in taking part, or indeed know of anybody who would be, then please do get in touch. Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you.

Best wishes

Chloe Sarfaty
