Public Meetings
October 2002 Schedule

Now that our Development Worker, Jacey Bedford, has the bit firmly between her teeth, YFA is holding a series of public consultation meetings. These are intended as fairly informal get-togethers where the organisation can introduce itself and outline its aims; but, most importantly, where you can tell us what you want. Invitations have gone out to organisations, folk clubs, dance groups and teams, and sessions (where we have contact details) and we hope that representatives from as many of them as possible will be able to attend.

It's inevitable that we will have missed some. If you represent people working in the folk arts in Yorkshire and haven't yet received an invitation, please accept our apologies - and take this page as your invitation.

YFA is intended as an enabling organisation; we are not here to compete with existing groups, but to co-operate with them and, we hope, to help. To succeed in this, we need your input; your ideas, experience and advice. Please attend a meeting if you can; if we work together there is much that can be achieved.

To begin with, we have arranged four meetings at well-known and reasonably central venues in North, South, East and West Yorkshire, to take place during October 2002. A further meeting is planned for North Lincolnshire.

East Beverley, White Horse Tues. 8th 8.30pm
West Leeds Playhouse Thurs. 10th 8.00pm
North York, Black Swan Mon. 14th 8.30pm
South Wentworth, Rockingham Arms Wedns. 16th 8.30pm

If you would like to come, please contact Ken Wood on 01535 606939 to confirm; that way we'll know how much food to provide.
