The Halifax Traditions Festival was recently nominated for an Arts, Business and Community award (Arts & Business Creative Learning Champions Awards). Sue Coe, as Traditions Festival Coordinator and Sandra Cartlidge, Woolshops Shopping Centre manager and their major sponsor, were invited to the awards dinner. The dinner and presentation of prizes, organised by Arts & Business Yorkshire, took place at the Marriott Hotel in Leeds on May 16th 2003 and while Halifax Traditions were not overall winners, they were given the best table in the room and had their photographs taken with Valerie Singleton, the keynote speaker. The winners in this category were the Harrogate International Festival and Bettys and Taylors as their business partners.
