News reaches us of a new festival planned for Filey this year. It's scheduled for Friday 30 July to Sunday 1 August, and will be based at the Station Hotel ("Top House") on Queen Street, and possibly elsewhere in the Old Town. Live acoustic music of most kinds will be featured, with singers and musicians, folk music from around the world, blues, shanties, celtic, zydeco, skiffle, bluegrass, music hall, community hymns, dancers, crafts, story-tellers and children's events. Admission to all events will be free, but that means that the organisers will be asking performers to donate their services.
