Craven Herald: new arts column
| |||||
|
Ian Lockwood writes: In response to discussions with members of the arts community, The Craven Herald has agreed to start an arts column to run weekly in the newspaper. To ensure its success, we need the support of local organisations to ensure that there is a steady flow of news into the paper each week. The aim is to feature reviews, previews, advance notices, auditions and any general information. Clearly the amount submitted for inclusion will vary from week to week but it is essential that we gather enough information to keep the column full and interesting each week. The flip side of this is that there may be weeks when two, three or even more organisations are holding productions. In such instances I would ask those involved to accept that it has been an unusually busy week and therefore space has been shared. After a shortish period I shall assess the flow and expand or reduce the space given over to coverage of the arts accordingly. The intention is to "kick off" our new column in the edition of April 30. Items for inclusion should be sent to: Sunita Bhatti on the e-mail sunita.bhatti@skipton.newsquest.co.uk. Finally I would be grateful if anyone has any imaginative idea what to call this column, other than "Arts Column"! My creative juices seem to be a low ebb for alternatives. Please contact me with any suggestions. Ian Lockwood, editor Email: ian.lockwood@bradford.newsquest.co.uk
