We began by listing programmes and broadcasters based in Yorkshire, North Lincolnshire and adjacent areas. Other regional and national listings will follow as time allows.
Many of the programmes listed here have since been axed by the local stations that commissioned and/or broadcast them, usually in order to aim instead at a 'lowest common denominator' audience. We retain the entries (suitably annotated) in order to name and shame the guilty parties.

The Music Well (formerly Radio Britfolk)
Yorkshire-based online radio station with a wide range of programmes covering contemporary and traditional styles, and with a special emphasis on the music of Britain and Ireland. With the change of name comes a move from a set-up where basic content was available to all with additional material restricted to subscribers, to one where all content (including archived broadcasts) is now available to all. Please note that donations are invited; somebody, after all, has to pay the bills.

From early April 2006, the programme was extended to two hours, running from 1900 to 2100. Within a year, 'new blood' at the station decided to axe the whole thing; perhaps in the vain hope of attracting a largely imaginary 'younger' demographic. To its shame, BBC Radio York has abandoned all non-American specialist music coverage in favour of bland talk-led pap.
